Gifts For Seniors - Any Ideas?

We all love our senior friends and relatives, and want so much
to remember them on holidays. Senior real estate buying and selling, and downsizing, in nashville tn. Sarah & John Rummage, Realtors, info@ARR-TN.com

But we don't want to clutter their downsized homes with 'stuff.' I think it is good to give small, or consumable gifts.

Allen Hainge , a great real estate trainer and professional, put out the question for ideas on his Facebook page, and came up with some ideas: 
-Take them out for a nice dinner or lunch
-A subscription to their favorite magazine
-A subscription to their local newspaper
-A certificate to a nice restaurant
... -A pre-paid grocery card
-A weekly phone call
-If they have a favorite team, take them to a game; if they don't live near you, send them a pair of tickets
-Drop by for a visit...just to talk
-Movie tickets
-A monthly cleaning service for their home
-A pair of glasses, if needed
-A clothing certificate
-A photo album containing photos from their past
-An Ancestor.com membership









I recently gave a closing gift to Mrs. K.,
a senior home seller.
This was a coffee mug with a photo
of her home on it, ordered from
Costco (other photo processing
companies also make gifts with photos).

I also gave her mouse pads with her home photo for her grown childen.

Farmer' Market - Nashville's Gathering Place

Nashville Farmer's Market, located at 900 Rosa Parks Blvd, Nashville, TN 37208, is a fun and educational experience for both adults and for children.

There are the freshest of vegetables, restaurants (we saw Indian, Jamaican, Chinese, Mexican, and plain ole bar-be-que) and a grocery in the food court.

There are also crafts,and flea market items.

You will likely see someone you know.

Our family ate lunch there this week, and we all went to our favorite food booth, and then met back at a big table to enjoy the food and the company.

Our grandson checked out the tomatoes......

Metro Beautification & Environment and Public Works are including a “Sign Off Day” as part of the free event; volunteers and neighborhood groups who want to clean up illegal signs from public rights of way and utility poles can bring them to the event for proper disposal.

Is that the sound of little squirrels I hear?

We love the trees around our Nashville TN home, but every Fall we have to protect our attic from little wildlife, like squirrels and raccoons.  We thought an old roof was letting them easily get in, and that a new roof would solve the problem, but no, the smart little critters STILL got in through the new roof.
 
So today, after hearing a strange scratching, I have called All Paws Wildlife to come out and inspect the attic and cover any access spots with strong wiring. 
 
I am sure there are other wildlife removal companies around, and I receive no compensation from All Paws Wildlife for mentioning their name. This is just a quick reference from me if you are hearing sounds of wildlife a little to close to home and you want to remedy before they have a produced a family to live in your attic!

Learning To Ride A Motorcycle

Nothing Bundt Cakes Store Coming Soon To Nashville TN

Nothing Bundt Cakes out of Las Vegas, should be open in a couple of days to nourish you when you want a sweet treat.

The store is going into the Greenway at Belle Meade retail strip at 21 White Bridge Road, Nashville TN,  Nothing Bundt Cakes sells the cakes in various flavors and sizes, including the single-serving "Bundtlet." (The chain's website proclaims: "Sorry Cupcake! Bundtlets are Bigger, Better, Blissful.")

The opening activities sound like fun:

Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011 — 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. — Ribbon cutting with the Greater Nashville Chamber of Commerce, Mayor of Belle Meade Gray Thornburg, and representatives of Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.

Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 — Second Harvest Food Bank Collaboration Kickoff, Nothing Bundt Cakes will donate four meals for every 8-inch and 10-inch cake sold from Sept. 30 to Nov. 24 to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.
